How much does it cost? All manuscripts are read line by line, word by word, but some will require more work than others. Our rates start at $.004 per word for light editing and could increase depending on the amount of work involved. A minimum charge of $20.00 will apply. My book is ___ pages. How much will it cost me? We charge by the word. We feel a per page price is very unfair to the author, as the word count can vary greatly depending on the page content. Most word processing software will calculate your word count very easily. The method may be different depending on the word processing program you are using. Ask us how and we can help you, or attach your manuscript and we will calculate it for you. |
What do you edit or proofread for? Click on the "What We Do" button on the above menu and the "Checklist" linked to that page. |
Will you do a sample edit? Yes. Just attach either a portion or all of your file to an e-mail and we will do the first few pages for your review. |
How about my personal privacy and the content of my work? A non-disclosure/intellectual property statement will be sent to you at your request. All work we do, the information contained therein, identity, any personal information, and any correspondence will be held in the strictest confidence. |
How closely will you work with me? We feel it is important to work closely with you throughout the entire process. You will be in control. We care about your work and will answer any questions, address any issues and work with you on any problems. Click on the "What We Do" button on the above menu. |
How long will it take? That depends on the amount of work involved. Book editing will require more time than website text. Most book manuscripts can be finished in a week, two at the most, while website text will usually only take a day or two. The amount or work requested is the sole determiner. This will be agreed to as part of the payment and terms. Click on "Our Rates" button on the above menu. |
How do I submit my book, manuscript or work? Submissions are accepted in electronic form only, in most word processing formats (WordPerfect, MS Word, WordPad, Notepad, RTF, etc.). Click on the "What We Do" button on the above menu. |
What if I don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed? Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed on most computers. If not, it is a free download at Adobe's website. It is very simple to install. |
How do I pay you? You can pay by check or money order, but it is easier is to use PayPal. You do not need an account, and they can take credit, bank or debit cards. Click on "Payments" button on the above menu. An invoice in PDF format can be sent at your request. |
Why do I have to pay you before you do my work? You may not need to, depending on the amount of work. Under some circumstances we will accept one half before the work is started, the balance when the work is completed. Click on "Our Rates" button on the above menu. |
What if I want to make changes and/or add additional text? Any changes or added content not in the original submission will be charged at the original per-word rate. Corrections to our work are, of course, implemented at no charge. Click on the "What We Do" or "Our Rates" button on the above menu. |
What if I don't have a PayPal account? You do not need to have an account. You may make a payment using a major credit, bank or debit card. Click on "Payments" button on the above menu. |
