First-time author? First-time authors are particularly vulnerable. Over the years, I have worked on many books and works, especially with first-time authors who have written a good story or work that would be enjoyable and informative to read, but is so filled with errors that the point is lost. Sometimes it may be unclear what is meant, the character names, or important places or events are spelled differently, the plot takes a turn without explanation, or many other things you just didn't see. You think you have done everything correctly, re-read it and reviewed it until you just can't bear to do it one more time. You think it is perfect and you have found everything. This is usually not the case. It is very difficult to edit your own work, regardless of your grasp of grammar, spelling, punctuation and writing fundamentals because you see only what you meant to write. You know what the storyline is, the places and events, the characters, and all the elements that make up your work. When this happens, the reader will most likely lose interest and quickly put your book down. Your credibility is lost. What a shame! All the hours, sweat and heart put into your work gone to waste when all it needed was A Good Edit. Contact us for a sample edit. |
